The Truong Uc market in Phong Thanh hamlet is the only market in Vietnam that convenes for just one day on the first day of the first lunar month. The main goods are home-grown vegetables. People attend the market more to meet each other and exchange New Year wishes than to buy or sell something.

The market used to serve as an outpost of the Tay Son troops stationed to protect Thi Nai port and the Emperor Citadel, also known as the Binh Dinh Citadel. When the Lunar New Year arived, Emperor Quang Trung allowed a spring festival to be organized there. The Tay Son army was active during a period of peasant uprising near the beginning of the Nguyen dynasty in 1802.
