(VOVworld) – Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras called on Greeks to say no in the referendum to collect public opinions on reform plan and austerity measures scheduled to take place this Sunday.
In a nationally-televised address, Alexis Tsipras once again criticized three international creditors including International Monetary Fund (IMF), European Commission (EC) and European Central Bank (ECB) to cause Greek current condition.
According to Wednesday initial result of a survey conducted prior to the vote, 46% of voters said no, 37% of voters said yes and the remaining 17% of voters have not yet decided on the plan to swap austerity measures for bailout aid.
Greece’s negotiation process on loan repayment has faced a deadlock since Greece announced that it could not repay the 1.5 billion euro loan for the IMF on the June 30 deadline and conduct referendum on austerity measures in exchange for a bailout package.
