UN is a priority of Vietnam’s foreign policy

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam always considers the United Nations a top priority in its foreign policy, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said on Wednesday.

Hosting a reception for UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Kamal Malhotra and representatives of the UN in Vietnam for UN Day (October 24), Mr. Binh said Vietnam attaches great importance to co-operative ties with the UN.

Deputy PM Binh took the occasion to ask UN organizations to identify trends and potential crises and their impact on Vietnam.

Mr. Malhotra said the UN will help Vietnam achieve its SDGs and will support Vietnam in policies to improve its competitiveness and avoid the middle-income trap. Vietnam will join the UN in hosting activities to mark its 75th anniversary this year.
