On Tuesday, Guterres called for the reopening of border crossings to allow essential aid such as food, medicine, and fuel to reach Gaza, where people are facing a severe humanitarian crisis after more than a month of blockade. He emphasized that the forced displacement of Palestinians from their land is against international law and insisted on a two-state solution to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned of food shortages and worsening living conditions in Gaza, urging the international community to act swiftly to deliver aid and protect civilians. OCHA reported that all border crossings remain closed under Israeli orders, halting both humanitarian and commercial shipments into Gaza.
