US officially imposes 10% global tariff on imports

(VOVWORLD) - According to US Customs and Border Protection, starting February 24, the US imposed an additional 10% tariff on all non-exempt imports.

The official notice confirmed a 10% ad valorem duty, rather than the 15% later announced by US President Donald Trump.

Following a Supreme Court ruling rejecting most emergency-based tariff measures, US President Trump announced a temporary 10% global tariff under a different legal basis, later stating it would rise to 15 percent “immediately.”

However, the White House confirmed the current rate remains at 10%, with preparations underway for a separate executive order to raise it to 15%.
