(VOVworld) - The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing US officials, that the Obama administration remained committed to countering Tehran's missile program and that the restrictions against companies and individuals suspected of involvement in the program would be eventually imposed. However, it is not clear when exactly the sanctions would be imposed, according to the officials. Earlier, the Wall Street Journal said Washington was preparing fresh sanctions against firms and individuals in Iran, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates over alleged links to Iran's ballistic missile program.

In response to the potential new US sanctions, on Thursday Iran’s foreign ministry denounced the US administration. Iran’s state television quoted spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari as saying that Iran’s missile program has no connection to the nuclear agreement. He added that Iran will resolutely respond to any interfering action by the US against its defensive programs.
