John Kerry says Washington is considering a plan B for the political transition in Syria
Speaking before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday, Kerry refused to specify details of any plan B, such as increased military involvement or support for the Syrian opposition.
He warned that the Syrian situation would worsen and it would be difficult to maintain it as a whole Syria amidst continuous clashes between the government and opposition forces.
Kerry made the statement a day after the US and Russia agreed on a temporary ceasefire, which will take effect on February 27. The Syrian government has agreed to the ceasefire conditions.
