US Vice Presidential candidates spar in their only debate
(VOVWORLD) - Vice President Mike Pence and Democratic challenger Kamala Harris clashed on Thursday morning (Hanoi time) at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City as the White House struggled to contain an outbreak that has infected President Donald Trump and dozens of others.

Ms. Harris made history, becoming the first black and South Asian woman to participate in a national election debate.
For 90 minutes, the candidates debated the coronavirus pandemic, the economy, foreign policy, race relations and police reform.
The debate was a chance for the two candidates to show their ability to deal with numerous important issues in the next four years and to distinguish themselves from the other.
US President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden are scheduled to debate each other on October 15 in Miami, Florida, and on October 22 in Nashville, Tennessee.
