According to the statement by the US Department of Treasury, the new sanctions were aimed at 3 banks in Moscow including the Bank of Moscow, the Russian Agricultural Bank and VTB bank. The United Shipbuilding Corporate in St. Petersburg is also subject to the sanctions. These banks will not be allowed to receive any medium-term or long-term sponsorships in the US.
Meanwhile, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Rosselkhoznadzor, has announced a possibility of a ban on imported poultry from the US and fruit from the EU due to toxic chemicals, following the US and EU’s new sanctions on Russia. The agency will also investigate McDonald’s suppliers for using products suspected of including antibiotics.
