The government of the Republic of Vanuatu attaches importance to developing diplomatic ties with Vietnam. President Iolu Johnson Abbil stated this at a recent ceremony in Port Vila where Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Vinh Thanh presented his credentials. The president vowed his country will make every effort to step up cooperation with Vietnam for their mutual benefit. Ambassador Thanh expressed his hope that the Vietnam-Vanuatu friendship will grow and called on Vanuatu’s Government to support Vietnam in hosting the 15th Summit of Francophonie in 2014.
