(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh is on an official visit to Colombia July 13-16. At Thursday’s meeting with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, the two leaders agreed bilateral relations have steadily progressed in all sectors. Two-way trade exceeded 364 million USD in 2015, a nine-fold increase in 10 years.

The two leaders proposed an Intergovernmental Joint Committee on Cooperation in Trade, Investment, Science, and Technology and maintaining consultations at the deputy foreign minister level.
On Thursday Ms. Thinh and Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Angela Holguin witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and seafood and a cultural cooperation program in 2017-2019. The same day Ms. Thinh and her entourage visited the Senate of Colombia.
