At a reception for Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkanen, Vice President Thinh said Vietnam is beefing up economic restructuring, equitization of state-owned enterprises, and expansion of economic links through bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements.

Minister Mykkanen said Finland will prioritise economic and trade cooperation with Vietnam, thus calling on Vietnam to provide optimal conditions for Finnish firms to invest, transfer technology, and do long-term business, especially in Finland’s strongest fields - clean technology, information and communications technology, water management, agriculture, and forestry

At her meeting with Minister of Education and Culture Sanni Grahn-Laasonen, Ms. Thinh said she hopes both sides will find more cooperation opportunities and called on Finland to grant more scholarships to Vietnamese postgraduates, increase training courses co-organised by the countries’ educational institutions, and help Vietnam improve the quality of its education sector.
