"Vietnam Human Rights Bill is unfair, applying double standard"

(VOVworld) - A member of the US House of Representative has opposed the Vietnam Human Rights Bill, which has been passed by the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs. Eni Faleomavaega said the bill is not fair for Vietnam as it applies a double standard. Speaking at a House of Representative’s discussion on Wednesday, the Congressman said the bill is a shortsighted approach and contradicts to efforts by US Presidents since the government of Bill Clinton to strengthen ties with Vietnam. He said the Bill is based on data dozens of years a go and provided by those who never been to Vietnam.
