(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s Ha Tinh province will host an opening ceremony tomorrow for a program of cultural, sports, and tourism exchanges between Vietnamese and Lao border provinces. The cross-border exchanges began yesterday with a number of cultural and sports events. Nguyen Thien, Vice Chairman of the Ha Tinh People’s Committee and head of the program’s organizing board, said ‘We have an obligation to organize some major events to celebrate this Vietnam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year. We consider this a practical way to mark the 50^th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the 35^th anniversary of our cooperative friendship treaty. These celebrations are well prepared’. The exchanges will continue throughout Vietnam’s northern and central regions until the end of 2012.
