(VOVWORLD) -General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam has written an article entitled “Future for the rising generation”, highlighting the pivotal role of the youth in driving Vietnam into a new era of growth and prosperity.

The Party leader said that towards 2045, which marks the 100th founding anniversary of Vietnam and its strategic goal of becoming a developed country with high income, Vietnam needs a young generation that is not only excellent in intelligence but also physically superior, rich in cultural identity, capable of competing and standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers, affirming the country's global position.
The Party and State’s unwavering viewpoint is taking people as the foundation for sustainable development, therefore, youth work is a matter of national survival, one of the factors that determine the success or failure of the revolution, and a crucial task of the entire political system and society. Investing in and developing the young generation has become the top strategic priority in the new period. Building and nurturing a strong, intelligent, and civilized generation of youth is the solid foundation for Vietnam to move forward, become a developed country and a symbol of national aspiration, strength and will, he said.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Party and State will invest heavily and comprehensively in resources to create the best conditions for the development of the young generation, particularly the “rising generation”. Education, training, sports, culture and population policy will be the top priorities in the national strategy to improve the quality of life and international competitiveness of the young generation of Vietnam. The Party and State will continue to adopt mechanisms and policies to enable young people to develop healthily, comprehensively, and harmoniously in terms of morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics.

The Party chief suggested that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union leverage the spirit of dedication and the pioneering role of young people in economic and social development, safeguard national defense and security, boost international integration; develop science and technology, innovative startups, and digital transformation; and protect the Party's ideological foundation.
On the next 20 years, the country shares an aspiration of building a generation of Vietnamese youth who are steadfast, progressive, excellent in intelligence, physically superior and imbued with cultural identity, confident enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with international friends, contributing to steering the country to strength and prosperity, according to the article.
