Vietnam, Portugal seek to deepen bilateral cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening and deepening its friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Portugal, an active member of the European Union.

Receiving Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel in Hanoi on Friday, the Vietnamese PM proposed that the two sides continue consolidating political trust, increase high-level exchanges, and elevate bilateral ties in a more substantive and effective manner.
He also called for stronger cooperation in priority areas such as renewable energy, maritime affairs, logistics, innovation and healthcare.
Minister Rangel said Portugal considers Vietnam one of its key partners in Southeast Asia. He expressed strong support for the Vietnamese leader’s proposals and reaffirmed Portugal’s desire to further deepen comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.
Earlier, the Portuguese Minister held talks with Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and attended the inauguration ceremony of the Portuguese Embassy in Vietnam.
