Vietnam, RoK aim at 150 billion USD trade turnover by 2030

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has suggested that Vietnam and the Republic of Korea make full use of bilateral free trade agreements and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to achieve the goal of 100 billion USD bilateral trade turnover soon and 150 billion USD turnover by 2030 towards balance and sustainability.

Meeting with Republic of Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Friday in Hanoi, PM Chinh called on the Korea to open more to Vietnam's staples such as agricultural and aquatic products, seasonal fruits and support Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in the global supply chain of Korean enterprises.

President Yoon emphasized that the RoK government values the relations with Vietnam and considers Vietnam a key partner in Southeast Asia. He affirmed that the Korean Government will continue to encourage and create favorable conditions for Korean businesses to invest in Vietnam. He also suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in defense industry.

Both agreed to improve cooperation efficiency and support each other in international and regional issues of mutual concern, while sharing a common vision on ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea.
