Vietnam, RoK promote football cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement with the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Football Association (KFA) in Hanoi.

Under the agreement, the two sides will foster cooperation in regional and international football activities, exchange personnel and send more experts to the two countries’ football events. The football organizations also agreed to send experienced trainers to support national football academies, and share experience in football management and regulations, as well as knowledge on sports medicine and rehabilitation.

At the signing ceremony, VFF President Le Hung Dung said the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) forms part of the State visit of RoK President Moon Jae-in to Vietnam.

During his state visit, President Moon on Thursday had a meeting with Vietnam’s national U23 football team. Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam highly valued the Vietnam-RoK football cooperation, with various exchanges and training courses for national teams, among others. Coach Park Hang-seo and his assistants from the RoK greatly contributed to the silver medal for the Vietnamese squad at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship this past January, he added.
