Vietnam suspends sending guest workers abroad until April 30

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has ordered businesses to suspend sending Vietnamese guest workers abroad until the end of April 30, according to the Ministry’s public notice.

560,000 Vietnamese are now working overseas, mostly in Japan, Chinese Taiwan, and the Republic of Korea. There has not to date report on Vietnamese workers contracting novel coronavirus.

 According to regulations, people, who are working abroad and are laid off or lost their jobs due to the effects of Covid-19, will be reimbursed for brokerage and service fees and receive support from the Overseas Employment Support Fund. In addition, employees working at risks abroad will be supported by the Overseas Employment Support Fund with a maximum of 212 USD per case.
