Vietnam targets up to 10% growth in 2025 industrial production

(VOVWORLD) - The industry and trade sector has achieved lots of milestones with imports and exports turnover reaching a new record of nearly 800 billion USD in 2024, up 15% over the previous year.

In 2025, the sector targets industrial production index to increase 9% to 10% against in 2024, said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang.

She added, “2025 is particularly important because it is the final year of the 5-year socio-economic development plan. It is also the foundation for the whole country to confidently enter a new era of national rise.”

“To realize the Government and Prime Minister’s direction on determining the GDP growth scenario of 8% next year, the sector is reviewing to raise growth targets in the industrial and trade sectors. The industrial production index strives to increase between 9% and 10% compared to 2024,” Thang noted.

In 2025, the Ministry will continue to comprehensively implement support policies in removing obstacles in production and trading activities of enterprises, especially for key manufacturing industries - textiles, footwear, automobiles, mechanics, and steel.
