Vietnam to receive 7 million doses of child vaccines this month

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has reached an agreement with Pfizer to obtain 7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine for children this month, and another 14  million doses in the fourth quarter, Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen said Thursday.

At the Government’s regular press conference, Mr. Tuyen said Vietnam aims to vaccinate nearly 12 million children between the ages of 5 and 11 against COVID-19.

Mr. Tuyen said the Health Ministry has coordinated relevant agencies to collect public opinions on this matter, especially from parents with children in that age group. More than 95% of the people surveyed approved of vaccinating children aged 5-11.
