Vietnam wants strengthened cooperation with Arab League

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam wants to continue to strengthen its cooperation with the Arab League to serve Vietnamese and Arab economic and social development goals, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son.

At Wednesday reception for Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Mr Son proposed that the two sides develop specific plans to implement the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of the Arab League, promote delegation exchanges, increase trade and investment cooperation, and support each other at multilateral forums.

Mr. Gheit praised Vietnam as a responsible and trustworthy partner and a close friend of the Arab people. He said the two sides should maintain regular contacts at multilateral forums and he hopes Vietnamese leaders will soon come to visit and work with the Arab League.
