The batch was imported by Kuala Lumpur-based company Billyan Global Resources and Vietnam’s Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro).
Billyan Global Resources ordered more Vietnamese lychees for Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas after seeing sales take off on the first day. 20 containers, each weighing nearly 10 tons, will be delivered to the Malaysia market.
Vietnamese lychees were first imported to Malaysia in 2015. The fruit has also been exported to such demanding markets as the US, Australia, Japan, and Europe.
