(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Military Industry and Telecom Group (Viettel) on Saturday held a ceremony to celebrate 20 years of its global operation, marking its journey of international expansion and reaffirming the position of Vietnamese enterprises in telecommunications and digital technology.

Starting from the Cambodian market in 2006, Viettel has, after two decades of overseas investment, expanded its presence to 16 countries.
Viettel’s success in overseas investment demonstrates its ability to master technology and transform from a domestic enterprise into a global technology corporation.
It has also served as an important bridge in promoting friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and partner countries, contributing to a peaceful and stable environment for development, and improving Vietnam’s international standing and prestige in the digital age.
On the occasion, Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang presented Viettel Global Investment Company (Viettel Global) with the title of Labor Hero, a prestigious State dictinction awarded to collectives with exceptionally outstanding achievements in labor and innovation.
