(VOVworld)- The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for the Western Pacific will hold its 63rd session in Hanoi on Monday. The conference, the most important of its kind, will draw the participation of hundreds of delegates from regional countries as well as other UN organizations. The conference will review the organization’s performance and discuss future plans to improve people’s health thus contributing to realizing the UN Millennium Development Goals. Hosting the conference, Vietnam will present its experience of national health insurance development. Vietnam’s Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said: “This is the first time Vietnam hosts such kind of regional meeting on health issues so Vietnam will participate in all discussions at the conference. Particularly, Vietnam will hold a senior level workshop on the sidelines of the conference to discuss the road map of health issuance for all people and invite experts from Thailand, Japan, China and the Republic of Korea to share their experience”.

Five resolutions and 5 strategies for the Western Pacific region are expected to be adopted at this conference.
