(VOVworld) – A forum on ways of developing human resource in ethnic and mountainous areas has opened in Hanoi.

The forum was co-organized by the Committee for Ethnicity and the United Nations Development Program. Most of the participants agreed that human resources play an important role in socio-economic development and are an investment for sustainable development in the future. Many suggested that the Committee for Ethnicity needs to draw up a strategy to develop human resource in ethnic and mountainous areas with education as its main focus. They added that the State should introduce more incentives to develop human resources in disadvantaged areas. Phan Van Hung is Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnicity: "Human resources need to be developed in quantity and in quality. We should focus on improving young people’s knowledge as well as the quality of education and training. We also need to select outstanding ethnic young people and send them to study overseas to learn more about advanced technologies".
