Vietnam attaches a great deal of importance to South-South cooperation

(VOV) -Vietnam attaches a great deal of importance to South-South cooperation and considers it vital for developing countries. Ninh Thi Binh, Counsellor to Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the UN, stated this at the 17
th Session of the Committee on South-South Cooperation in New York yesterday/ on Wednesday. Ninh said that Vietnam stands ready to cooperate with everyone to draw up effective mechanisms and promote South-South cooperation at all levels- international, regional, sub-regional, and national. This is for the mutual benefit for countries of South of the equator. She highlighted the need to strengthen and develop efficient and effective models of South-South cooperation and three-way cooperation on agricultural production, healthcare, education, information technology, infrastructure and trade that have proved successful over the last few years in many developing countries in Asia and Africa. Binh also urged that developed countries to realise their commitments on official development assistance, trade and giving developing countries access to their markets.
