From art shows to pedestrian street, Ho Chi Minh City lights up with night tourism

(VOVWORLD) - Night tourism in Ho Chi Minh City is gaining strong momentum, with a growing range of high-quality art programs and busy pedestrian street spaces attracting visitors, especially young travelers seeking fresh and unique experiences.

“Chao Show,” a new art space in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, takes audiences on a journey through Vietnamese culture from North to South via signature melodies, visuals, and refined regional cuisine. The program blends music, fine arts, photography, lighting, and traditional dishes in a modern format.

A standout feature of “Chao Show” is the application of Immersive Audio 20.4 technology, used for the first time in a Vietnamese art performance. The system delivers 3D surround sound, allowing audiences in any seat to feel as if they are at the center of the stage.

Its not just a musical experience. The food experience is also very special and truly reflects the colors of Vietnamese culture,” Nguyen Thi Hoang Linh from Binh Thanh ward said.

Le Quang Minh, the program’s producer, told VOV, My biggest wish is to bring this experience to young Vietnamese people who have never had contact with traditional musical instruments. I want to encapsulate everything in one show to introduce music from across Vietnam.”

“Chao Show” is a positive signal. Ho Chi Minh City still lacks art performances for tourists that strongly embody Vietnamese identity.

Chao Show is a long-term development direction for the growth of night tourism in Ho Chi Minh City. We will continue introducing it to international travel companies,” said production manager Nguyen Khac Anh.

Urban infrastructure development is also fueling night tourism. Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street is one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most popular nighttime destinations.

Shimmering lights, street music, art performances, and numerous street food options make the street a great place for check-ins and experiencing the city’s joyful nightlife, especially on weekends and holidays.

Recognizing night tourism as a key growth driver, the municipal tourism sector plans to develop new products through public-private partnerships, ranging from art performances to nighttime tours of cultural and historical sites.

Regular activities should be organized, especially on weekends and holidays. We should develop international-standard night tourism products and host film and sports festivals,” said Nguyen Duy Tam of the Strategic Research Institute at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade.

Diversifying night tourism offerings will boost Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism growth by extending stays and increasing visitor spending.
