Behind the installation is a solid stone wall engraved with the inscriptions “Hoang Sa (Paracel Islands) is Vietnam's territory.” The sovereignty marker is carved from a single block of granite, topped with a yellow star. Its body bears inscriptions affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty, while the front displays an information panel indicating the name and address of the People’s Committee of the Hoang Sa Special zone. The flagpole, made of stainless steel with a granite base, flies the national flag of Vietnam.
On this occasion, the People’s Committee also organized an exhibition showcasing 50 documents, images, and Vietnamese- and French-language press materials reflecting Viet Nam’s process of exercising sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands.
