Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai stressed that combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing is an especially important task, contributing to the effective implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines, and getting the EC "yellow card" removed as well as the sustainable development of Vietnam's fisheries sector.
Lieutenant General Oai asked officers and soldiers to continue implementing directives and orders, maintain combat readiness, enhance coordination among forces, and handle violations at sea. He stressed the need to intensify communication efforts, and to encourage and assist fishermen to fish safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations.
