The two-day event, held under the theme “Unity – Courage – Compassion – Innovation – Development”, will elect the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union for the 2026–2031 term and discuss priorities for the next five years.
Key topics will be reforming the Union’s activities, promoting women’s participation in political and economic development, and strengthening Vietnamese family values.
Nguyen Phuong Mai, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairwoman of the Bac Ninh provincial Women’s Union, said she hopes the Congress will adopt policies to enhance the capacity of Women’s Union members amid digital transformation and changes in local government administration.
“We hope to strengthen the capacity of Women’s Union cadres and ensure that the Union’s activities focus on addressing the practical needs of its members. Greater attention will be given to policies and benefits for Union officials, and providing appropriate incentives for grassroots-level officials," Mrs Mai.
H Thoi K Man, Vice Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Lien Son Lak commune in Dak Lak province, said she hopes the new term will bring stronger policies to help women develop their livelihoods and businesses, especially ethnic minority women.
“One of the Congress’s three priorities is to promote women’s entrepreneurship and innovation. We hope new policies will further support ethnic minority women in developing their economies and launching innovative businesses,” said Ms. H Thoi K Man.
