The initiative marks the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27 and supports the 500-Day Campaign to accelerate the search, recovery, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers.

Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, President of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Martyrs' Families, said this is the third year that his Association has organized the "Calling the Nation's Stars by Name" program in support of the 500-Day Campaign.

"We aim to raise between 120,000 and 200,000 USD to fund activities honoring Vietnam's martyrs. They are the shining stars in the sky of our homeland whose light will never fade. By remembering and calling their names with gratitude, we hope to remind people especially the younger generation of their sacrifices as well as our duty and responsibility to build and defend the nation," Mr. Hung said.

The "Calling the Nation's Stars by Name" program runs from June 10 to September 10. Donations are being accepted through charitable account 2707 on Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB)'s digital platform.
