Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung told reporters that this conference is taking place at a particularly important moment.

“It is the first Diplomatic Conference since the 14th National Party Congress and the elections for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels. It is also the first Diplomatic Conference of the new era defined by the 14th National Party Congress, which laid out Vietnam’s development goals for 2030 and 2045,” said Minister Trung.

In addition, it follows the recent adoption by the Party Central Committee’s 3rd plenum of a resolution on a new development model, he said. “Another notable aspect is that the conference is being held after the 14th National Party Congress identified foreign affairs and international integration as regular and strategically important tasks in national development.”
