55 years of Vietnam-Laos relations: Vietnam builds school for northern Lao

(VOVWORLD) -A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Bounneua high school with funding from the Vietnamese Government was held in Laos’ northern province of Phongsaly on Friday.

The project marks the 55^th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Vietnam’s Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung highlighted the special relations between the two countries which have been reinforced and deepened across the board, particularly in human resources training and development.

He added the school marks a milestone in cooperative relations between Phongsaly and Dien Bien province. Lao Minister of Planning and Investment Souphan Keomixay said the project is significant to Phongsaly, a poor province in Laos.
