The event themed "A Thousand Years of Heritage" marks 950th anniversary of the Imperial Academy and the 81st anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2). The artworks’ media include lacquer, silk, dó paper, woodcut, watercolor, gouache, and acrylic.
Many of the capital's cultural and architectural icons are featured, such as the Temple of Literature–Imperial Academy, the Pavilion of the Constellation of Literature, the Hanoi Flag Tower, Long Bien Bridge, the Hanoi University of Science (formerly the Indochina University) building, and the North Gate.
Additionally, the exhibition captures heritage sites across the country—from the Dong Van Karst Plateau, Ha Long Bay, and the Northern Delta to the Ancient Capital of Hue and the southern regions. A handcrafted work titled "Vinh Quy Bai To" (Homecoming to Pay Homage to Ancestors), measuring 2.5 by 7 meters is gaining traction.
The exhibition, which runs until September 25, will offer an exchange program featuring over 100 Vietnamese lacquer artists on August 29, where participants will discuss traditional materials and contemporary creative trends.
