The theme highlights the need to link economic growth with social progress and equity. Growth must create opportunities for everyone to participate in, contribute to, and fairly benefit from development. 2026 marks the 10th year Vietnam has held the month-long campaign for gender equality.

Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Tien Hai told the launch ceremony: “Gender equality should not be measured by slogans or events. It must be felt in every employment opportunity, every hiring decision, every household where responsibilities are shared, and in the timely protection afforded to every individual who has experienced violence.

"I call on every agency to take a practical step, every business to make a concrete commitment, and every family to make a positive change to promote gender equality,” Mr. Hai said.

Vietnam ranks 84th out of 145 economies, having closed more than 70% of its overall gender gap. The country ranks within the global top 50 for women’s economic participation and opportunity, with 75% of the gap in this area bridged.
