At the conference, the People’s Committee of An Giang Province granted investment policy approvals for 29 major projects with a total registered capital of more than 6.1 billion USD since July 1, 2025. Among them, 10 projects serving APEC 2027 had previously received investment approval decisions, while 19 projects were directly awarded at the conference, with total capital of over 2.5 billion USD. These projects focus on strategic infrastructure, high-end tourism, industrial parks, coastal urban developments, and renewable energy.

Notably, the provincial authorities signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with four partners and handed over memoranda of understanding on investment research to 24 strategic investors, with total initial registered capital of 57 billion USD.

Addressing the conference, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc emphasized that the strong confidence and investment commitments from businesses demonstrated that An Giang has become an attractive destination for both domestic and foreign investors. He affirmed that the Government, central ministries and agencies, and local authorities are committed to accompanying businesses and creating the most favorable environment and procedures for investors.

To ensure that An Giang’s planning truly serves as a driver of development and a tool for facilitation rather than mere management, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the province to strengthen coordination with central ministries and agencies in effectively implementing the provincial plan, while linking development efforts with urban beautification, green islands, and clean seas in preparation for the APEC 2027 High-Level Week and beyond.

He also called on the province to focus on five key tasks of urgently concretizing and adjusting planning while mobilizing resources; prioritizing resources for APEC 2027 preparations; decisively removing bottlenecks and reforming management thinking; establishing new growth models and comprehensively developing key sectors; and promoting socio-cultural development alongside social welfare and security.
