Speaking at the 43rd Annual Conference of the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives (IAEF), Quirno said the application would be handed to New Zealand’s Minister of Trade, whose country serves as the depositary of the agreement.
He stressed that membership would strengthen Argentina’s links with some of the world’s most dynamic markets while creating new opportunities for exports, investment, and private-sector development.
The CPTPP is currently the world’s fourth-largest free trade bloc, comprising 12 members: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam. The agreement is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive and high-standard multilateral trade frameworks in operation today, covering goods, services, investment, and digital trade.
