US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau reviewed multifaceted cooperation, particularly in economy, energy, artificial intelligence, and digital technology. ASEAN is a diverse region whose members are at different stages of economic development, said Mr. Landau. Therefore, the US is committed to engaging with ASEAN at both the multilateral and bilateral levels, he added.

At the discussion on energy security, delegates exchanged opinions on the need to redefine energy security as a strategic challenge in balancing economic growth, climate commitments, and regional resilience.

During the afternoon session on development models, the delegates discussed drivers for ASEAN’s remarkable growth, including export-oriented industrialization, the advantages of low-cost labor, and deep integration into global trade.
