Both the Vietnam U23 men's and women's football teams exited the Games in the quarterfinals. Vietnam's sole medal of the day came in canoeing. Paddlers Diep Thi Huong and Nguyen Thi Huong won bronze in the women's doubles 500m event for 1 minute 57.255 seconds.

As of the end of September 25, Vietnam won a total of 18 medals—one gold, one silver, and 16 bronze—placing 20th in the overall medal standings.
