The event was attended by Standing Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
Launched over nine months ago, the contest received more than 905,000 entries, the highest number of submissions to date. They are in magazine and newspaper article, radio and television program, and video clip formats.
According to the contest’s Steering Committee, the quality of the entries has improved remarkably, characterized by sharp argumentation, a strong combative spirit, and compelling evidence, all while remaining closely aligned with the vivid realities of the nation. Participants come from diverse walks of life across Vietnam, as well as Overseas Vietnamese and foreign nationals.
At the awards ceremony, Doan Minh Huan, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Head of the contest’s Steering Committee, emphasized: "The current landscape presents a complex mix of favorable opportunities and challenges. Hostile forces, reactionary elements, and political opportunists are exploiting new technologies, digital platforms, and algorithms to wage aggressive subversive campaigns."
"Consequently, firmly safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation has become a fundamental and vital task for affirming the enduring value and vitality of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the theory underlying the Party’s renewal policy. This entails upholding truth and righteousness, critiquing and combating erroneous, hostile, and reactionary views and actions, consolidating unity within the Party and consensus across society, and bolstering resilience against all attempts at subversion," he added.
On behalf of the contest’s Steering Committee, Mr. Huan officially launched the 7th Political Commentary Contest on Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation 2027.
The team from the Voice of Vietnam’s Current Affairs Department (VOV1) received an A Prize in the radio category and the team from the World Service Department (VOV5) was honored with a Promising Entry award.
