The program featured "Festival Drum and Lion Dance" performances that brought a vibrant, spirited atmosphere to the nation's border region, along with medleys of songs celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, children, and President Ho Chi Minh. Magic shows, a traditional feast, and a lantern procession added to a joyful and bustling full-moon celebration.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau awarded scholarships to students representing high achievers from the "Helping Children Go to School – Adopted Children of Border Guard Stations" program and the "Army Officers and Soldiers Helping Children Go to School" project.
Upon receiving the gifts, Giang Ngoc Nhi, a student at the Muong Lat Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School, shared, “We wish to share this joy with children in areas affected by heavy rains and flooding who are unable to fully celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. We are so happy and moved that this program was held in Muong Lat and to receive such meaningful gifts that serve as motivation for us to strive in our studies and personal development, so that we may one day contribute to our homeland.”
Meanwhile, in Lao Cai province, units of the Provincial Border Guard collaborated with local agencies over the weekend organized the "Borderlands–Mid-Autumn Moon Festival" program series in A Mu Sung and Si Ma Cai communes.
The events included presenting gifts to children facing particularly difficult circumstances and distributing Mid-Autumn Festival treats to students, alongside providing gifts to 100 families of policy beneficiaries and poor households.
