The Ministry said that it will research and develop regulations and standards for each housing group according to the new model. Housing will be classified into four groups: commercial housing, rental housing, official housing, and policy housing. Priority will be given to the development of rental housing at reasonable prices from State resources.
“Amendments to the Housing Law and the Real Estate Business Law will include regulations and more preferential policies regarding land, credit, and taxes to attract businesses, private capital, and other economic sectors to jointly develop rental housing. This will create a supply of long-term rental housing at reasonable prices, making housing accessible to the people,” Ha Quang Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing Development and Real Estate Market, told reporters.
At the press conference, a representative from the Ministry of Construction said that in the first five months of this year, construction started on 40 more projects, comprising over 34,300 social housing units. To date, construction of 720,000 units have been underway, reaching 72% of the target of 1 million units, of which over 180,000 have been completed, helping hundreds of thousands of families improve their housing.
