The event brought together the Consuls General of the Netherlands and Cuba, along with representatives from the consulates of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and several other countries.
Designed as an experiential cultural diplomacy initiative, the program created opportunities for diplomats and international friends to engage with the city's rich culinary heritage while gaining deeper insight into Vietnamese culture, traditions and local lifestyles.
The first edition, themed "Tropical Summer," combined hands-on cooking workshops with cultural exchanges. Guided by culinary artisans and experts, participants prepared fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls and Vietnam's signature dipping sauce, discovering the stories of diversity, harmony and community behind these iconic dishes.
Guests also experienced the art of brewing and tasting Shan Tuyet white tea and lotus tea, offering a glimpse into Vietnam's tea culture, appreciation of nature and centuries-old traditions. Each dish and cup of tea reflected the memories, values and cultural heritage passed down through generations.
The program is expected to become a regular cultural diplomacy series for the consular corps and international partners, helping promote Ho Chi Minh City as a modern, dynamic, creative and culturally distinctive destination while strengthening friendship and mutual understanding with the international community.
