He emphasized the leading role of the United States in the operation, describing it as “support for the world,” as hundreds of international commercial vessels remain stranded amid escalating tensions.

The initiative comes as the Strait of Hormuz faces severe disruption due to the U.S.–Iran conflict. Washington is deploying naval forces to escort commercial ships and establish secure corridors to restore maritime traffic.
