At a working session in Hanoi on Monday with the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV), the Deputy PM asked TKV to continue strengthening its role as the leading state-owned enterprise in the coal and mineral sectors while comprehensively implementing tasks and solutions to fulfill and exceed its production and business targets for this year and the period until 2030.

“The Group needs to continue ensuring stable, safe, and efficient coal production, and to achieve the production and business targets assigned for 2026 and until 2030,” said Mr. Tuc.

He added, “Priority should be given to ensuring an adequate coal supply for electricity generation in accordance with commitments made to the Government, preventing fuel shortages for power generation under any circumstances.”

Other tasks include reviewing all coal and mineral mining investment projects, accelerating projects that have met the required conditions for implementation, promoting the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and automation to improve labor productivity, reducing production costs, and increasing resource recovery rates.

Mr. Tuc called for the development of domestic value chains to increase product value and competitiveness, and contribute to building an independent and self-reliant economy. He asked TKV to step up the application of technology, digital transformation, automation, and smart mining models while promoting the circular economy, improving resource efficiency, reducing emissions, and protecting the environment.
