Activities will include Mong panpipe performances, exhibitions, traditional craft demonstrations, Mong costume shows, Mong cultural and culinary experiences, sports, and traditional games. Visitors can also explore the Mong Cultural Tourism Village in Quai To commune.
“This year’s festival has a new scale and format. Instead of focusing on entertainment, cultural preservation, and the celebration of Mong culture, it is closely linked to local socio-economic development and tourism promotion,” Tran Hai Ha, Director of the Dien Bien Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said at a press conference in Hanoi on Thursday.
There will be the largest, most spectacular street parade ever held as part of the Mong Ethnic Cultural Festival, he said, adding that 3,000 participants and 3 parade vehicles will take part.
