Maintaining uninterrupted information flows is no longer simply a technological issue, it has become vital to the survival of modern economies and societies. AI is increasingly emerging as the “brain” coordinating the global digital ecosystem.
In recent years, waves of cyberattacks have crippled hospitals, disrupted airport operations, and severely affected national power grids. As a result, the concept of “resilience” is becoming a fundamental requirement for next-generation digital infrastructure.
The convergence of AI and telecommunications is driving a revolution in digital infrastructure management. While AI offers enormous benefits, its deeper integration into digital systems is also creating a new range of risks and challenges.
In today’s highly interconnected world, protecting these “digital lifelines” means more than safeguarding the internet or data. It means ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of entire societies. That is the central message of this year’s World Telecommunication and Information Society Day: building secure and sustainable digital infrastructure where no one is left behind in the digital era.
Vietnam is accelerating the integration of AI into digital infrastructure development and national digital transformation efforts. Backed by the National Digital Transformation Program and the National Strategy on AI, many of Vietnam’s leading tech firms are shifting from traditional telecom providers to developers of digital platforms and smart technologies. Major companies such as Viettel, VNPT, FPT, and MobiFone have already deployed AI solutions to optimize network operations, analyze big data, and improve service quality.
