Running through Monday, the festival features exhibitions showcasing the province’s fruit industry value chains, tourism products, and trade fairs promoting fruits, fruit-based products, OCOP-certified goods, and Mekong Delta specialties.
Visitors can also enjoy fruit-art installation and culinary competitions, as well as exhibitions honoring long-standing orchards and experienced growers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee Pham Thanh Ngai said: “The first Dong Thap Fruit Festival is not just a celebration of agricultural products. It is a forum for reflecting on our development journey and discussing the future of agriculture in the era of digital transformation and climate change. We hope the festival will serve as a strong bridge connecting farmers, businesses, scientists, financial institutions, and logistics providers, thus opening new avenues for cooperation and promoting Vietnamese fruits as safe, high-quality products rich in nutritional value and cultural identity.”
Known as one of Vietnam’s leading fruit-producing regions, Dong Thap is home to nearly 135,000 hectares of fruit orchards, yielding more than 2.4 million tons annually. Its products including durian, dragon fruit, jackfruit, mango, green-skin pomelo, longan, pineapple, and pink mandarin oranges are exported to markets around the world.
