EU warns against threat of protectionism

(VOVWORLD) - The EU has called the surprising increase of protectionism a threat to the Eurozone’s growth, despite an optimistic forecast for the next 2 years.

The EU Economic Commission predicted the Eurozone economy will grow 2.3% this year and 2% in 2019. But the US’s new tariffs pose a serious threat. EU Economic Commissioner Pierre Moscovici said protectionism is the biggest risk to Europe’s positive expectations.
